1. Bihar Board: 11th Annual Exam Starts Today
Patna, Office Correspondent – The Bihar School Examination Board’s annual exam for Class 11 will begin on Monday. The exams will be held in two shifts until March 25. The first shift will be from 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM, while the second shift will be from 2:00 PM to 5:25 PM. Students will get an additional 15 minutes to read and understand the questions.
The board has announced that visually impaired and differently-abled students who cannot write by themselves will be allowed to have scribes.
Today’s Exam Schedule:
- First Shift: Physics for ISC students, Philosophy for IA students, Entrepreneurship for ICom students, and Foundation Course for Vocational students.
- Second Shift: Political Science for IA students, Accountancy for ICom students, and Chemistry for ISC students.
The board has instructed that the exam results should be prepared by April 2.
2. Government Urges Departments to Speed Up Process, Relief: NPS Members to Receive Timely Pension
New Delhi, Agency – The Central Pension Accounting Office (CPAO) has issued new guidelines to ensure timely pension payments to retired government employees under the National Pension System (NPS). The move aims to address complaints regarding delays in pension disbursement due to complex procedures, lack of documents, and coordination issues between departments.
To streamline the process, CPAO has instructed departments to complete pension processing within 30 days and submit all documents online for tracking. A special task force has also been formed to enhance coordination among departments. The CPAO has reminded officials to follow the old pension system’s (OPS) procedures for efficiency.
3. Bihar Day: A Glimpse of the Changing Education System
Patna, Principal Correspondent – The Bihar Day event, scheduled from March 22 to 24 at Gandhi Maidan, will feature an Education Pavilion as the main attraction. This pavilion will showcase ongoing academic activities in primary, secondary, and higher education institutions in the state.
A total of 60 stalls from 44 departments will display various government schemes and initiatives. The education department will highlight the educational transformation in Bihar, while other government departments will raise awareness about their respective fields.
This year, the Book Fair will be expanded from last year’s 6,000 sq. ft. to 60,000 sq. ft., with stalls from major publishers to provide a wide range of books for visitors.
4. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s Initiative: Khushboo to Study Science
Patna,Team – Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has taken steps to help Khushboo Kumari, a student from Danapur, Patna, pursue science education despite financial and administrative challenges. Khushboo, currently studying in the Arts stream at a local college, aspires to become a doctor.
Upon learning about her situation, Minister Pradhan directed the Patna District Magistrate to facilitate her enrollment in the Science stream immediately. Following this, the District Magistrate assured her admission in Biology and encouraged her to focus on her studies.
5. BEPC: 1068 Teachers to Become Disaster Management Trainers
Patna, Office Correspondent – A total of 1,068 teachers from various blocks in Bihar will receive training in disaster management under the Chief Minister’s School Safety Program. These teachers will be trained as Master Trainers by the Bihar State Disaster Management Authority (BSDMA) to handle emergencies effectively.
Two teachers (one male and one female) from each block will participate in a two-day residential training program at Chandragupt Institute of Management, Patna. The Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC) has instructed district education officers to select teachers for this training.
The training aims to equip teachers with knowledge on responding to disasters and raising awareness among students in government schools across the state.
6. School Children’s Team to Work for Crime Prevention
Patna – Schoolchildren will form teams to take responsibility for reporting crimes, particularly those related to women’s safety and child trafficking. Trained by the CID and educators, around 40,000 students from government schools (Grades 9-12) will participate in this initiative.
The program, starting on April 3 and running until May 27, will educate students about filing complaints and responding to crime. They will be trained in laws concerning child protection, women’s rights, and emergency response services such as Childline, Women Helpline, and Women’s Commission.
The objective is to integrate school safety programs into regular teaching and promote a culture of disaster preparedness and social responsibility.
7. Police Station to Be Set Up at Gandhi Maidan, 44 Stalls to Be Installed by Departments
Patna – A temporary police station will be set up at Gandhi Maidan during the Bihar Day celebrations from March 22-24 to ensure security.
- The Tourism Pavilion will showcase Bihar’s tourist attractions and recent developments in the sector.
- A Culinary Fair will feature over 200 traditional food stalls from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and other states to promote regional cuisine.
The expansion of the fair aims to offer visitors a larger venue and a richer experience, following public feedback from last year’s event.
