1. EPFO Members to Get Banking-Like Facilities by June
New Delhi, Special Correspondent: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) aims to complete its centralized IT-enabled system and EPFO 3.0 by March 31.
According to EPFO officials, once the IT system is fully operational, it will undergo trials. It is expected that by mid-2025, i.e., June, EPFO members will start receiving banking-like services in their PF accounts.
2. Teacher Suspended for Using Derogatory Language Against Biharis
Jehanabad: A teacher from Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jehanabad, Bihar, has been suspended after a video of her making derogatory remarks against Biharis went viral on social media.
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan took immediate action and suspended the teacher, Dipali, who hails from Darjeeling. She has been assigned to Kendriya Vidyalaya Mashrakh, Saran, as her headquarters during the suspension. She is not allowed to leave without the principal’s permission.
3. EPFO to Settle All High-Salary Pension Cases by March 31
New Delhi: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has resolved 70% of applications under the higher pension scheme and aims to clear all pending cases by March 31, 2025.
During a meeting of the EPFO’s Executive Committee, officials were instructed to expedite cases where members have already deposited the required funds. This scheme is being implemented in accordance with the Supreme Court’s decision.
4. Annual Evaluation for Classes 1 to 8 from March 10 to 20
Siwan: The annual evaluation for students from Class 1 to 8 in all government and aided primary schools in Bihar will be conducted from March 10 to 20.
The exams will be held in two shifts—10 AM to 12 PM and 1 PM to 3 PM. To maintain confidentiality, teachers will be assigned to different schools for evaluation duties.
5. Teachers to Get Online Exam Practice Sessions
Muzaffarpur: The Bihar Board has decided to provide practice sessions for teachers appearing in the third phase of the online competency exam.
The board found that many teachers were struggling with basic computer skills, including selecting answers. To address this, practice sessions will be held at ICT labs in schools and teacher training colleges from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
6. Users Can Now Withdraw Money from UPI Lite Accounts
New Delhi: The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has issued a directive allowing users to withdraw money from their UPI Lite wallets.
Previously, users could only deposit money but had no option to withdraw it. This new feature, set to be implemented by March 31, 2025, will enable users to transfer their wallet balance directly to their bank accounts without closing their UPI Lite accounts.
