1. CM to Distribute Appointment Letters to 100 Teachers Who Passed Competency Exam-2
Patna: A total of 100 contractual teachers, 20 each from five districts—Patna, Bhojpur, Jehanabad, Vaishali, and Saran—who passed Competency Exam-2, will receive provisional appointment letters as “Special Teachers” from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The distribution will take place at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. The remaining teachers will receive their appointment letters in their respective districts on the same day. The education department issued guidelines to all districts on Tuesday. After receiving their appointment letters, all these teachers will rejoin their respective schools.

2. Around 5,000 Teachers to Join as Special Teachers
Chhapra: Under the Bihar School Special Teacher (Amendment) Rules, the process has begun to appoint approximately 5,000 teachers in Saran district as Special Teachers. After receiving a letter from the Director of Primary Education, the process of downloading provisional appointment letters through special software has been initiated. The appointment letter will have a digital signature of the District Education Officer (DEO). After this, teachers will be given their appointment letters. The process is being monitored by Establishment DPO Dhananjay Paswan.

3. Board Exams for Class 10 to Be Held Twice a Year from Next Year
New Delhi: CBSE will now conduct Class 10 board exams twice a year. From the academic session 2025-26, students will have two chances to appear for the exams. CBSE has invited suggestions from the public regarding this policy change until March 9. Officials stated that the draft policy was approved in an important meeting chaired by the Ministry of Education. A high-level discussion was held under the chairmanship of the Union Education Minister, where it was decided to seek public opinion on the proposed changes.

4. 58 Fake Candidates Caught in This Year’s Exam
Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) conducted the Matric (Class 10) exams, which concluded on Tuesday. The last day saw exams for vocational subjects. The Matric exams were held from February 17 to 25 across 1,677 centers in the state, with 15.85 lakh students appearing. BSEB Chairman Anand Kishor congratulated district officials and all personnel involved in the successful conduct of the exams. During the exams, 58 fake candidates were caught, while 51 students were expelled for cheating.

5. 66 Teachers in the State Receive Excellence Awards
Patna: A total of 66 teachers from 27 districts in Bihar have been awarded the “Outstanding Teacher” award for the month of January. Among them, 26 are female teachers. The Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, Dr. S. Siddharth, presented them with certificates of appreciation. Khagaria district has the highest number of awardees, with seven teachers receiving the honor. Darbhanga, Kishanganj, and Sitamarhi each have five awardees, while Patna, Kaimur, Madhepura, and Nalanda have three each.

6. 25 Lakh School Students in Bihar to Receive Vocational Training
Patna: The new academic session of 2025-26 will bring significant changes to school education in Bihar. Approximately 25 lakh students from Classes 9 and 11 in government schools will receive vocational training in various trades. Every Saturday, instead of attending regular school, students will visit nearby Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) to receive hands-on training in trades like fitter, welder, and electrical work. This initiative will start in April with the aim of enhancing employability skills among students.
