Bihar: Transfer Process of 1.90 Lakh Teachers to be Completed in Two Months
Patna, Bureau | March 04, 2025
The transfer process of 1.90 lakh teachers in the state will be completed within two months. Education Minister Sunil Kumar made this announcement in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday. He said that within two months, we will complete the transfer process after scrutinizing the teachers’ applications. At this time, we have transferred teachers suffering from cancer. This process will move forward. In the future, we will post husbands and wives together at the same location. The minister said that teachers will be posted according to their preferences. Ten options have been sought from them for the transfers. The applications submitted by the teachers for their preferred postings are being scrutinized. In case there is no vacancy at the teachers’ preferred location, their second option will be considered. If there is no vacancy there either, the third option will be considered, and this sequence will continue up to the tenth option. After completing this process within two months, the teachers will be sent to the districts.
Process and Transparency
The minister said that software has been prepared for this, and further action is underway. If teachers are not satisfied with their postings or have any concerns, they can register their complaints with the committee at the district level, chaired by the District Magistrate. After that, they can present their case to the Divisional Commissioner. We have also formed a committee at the headquarters level under the chairmanship of the departmental secretary. If there is any error in the software, the government will address that deficiency. It is always ready for this.
Legislative Context
The issue was raised by Bakhri MLA Suryakant Paswan through a starred question. The minister said that this is the final process.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar: Over 50 Lakh Youth to Get Jobs and Employment This Year
Patna, Bureau | March 04, 2025
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that in the year 2020, we had set a target of providing 10 lakh government jobs, which was later increased to 12 lakh. Against the target of providing employment to 10 lakh, 24 lakh youths have been provided employment. This year, we will provide jobs and employment to more than 50 lakh youths, exceeding the target. This includes 12 lakh government jobs and 38 lakh employment opportunities. So far, 9.35 lakh people have been given government jobs. The Chief Minister was responding to the government’s stance in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday after a two-sided debate on the Governor’s address.
Development and Achievements
The Chief Minister presented in detail the work done in various fields since 2005 in the House. He said that before 2005, the state’s healthcare facilities were also in poor condition. Due to the lack of facilities in primary health centers, an average of only 39 patients visited per month. We started the distribution of free medicines in hospitals. Doctors began sitting in hospitals regularly, and better treatment became available. As a result, now 11 thousand patients come for treatment every month at primary health centers.
The condition of roads was deplorable. When we were MPs or MLAs, we used to walk more due to the lack of roads in the area. We focused on the construction of roads and bridges in the state from the beginning. We worked with the target of reaching Patna from any district in the state in a maximum of six hours and achieved it. After that, we reduced the six-hour target to five hours. Bridges, elevated roads, and bypasses were constructed. This target will also be completed soon. After this, we will work on the target of reaching Patna from remote areas in a maximum of four hours.
Social Reforms
Earlier, Hindu-Muslim disputes used to happen frequently. The government of that time would take the votes of Muslims but did nothing for them. We ended this conflict. In the first phase itself, we got eight thousand cemeteries fenced. To give respect and rights to women, we provided 50 percent reservation to women in gram panchayats in 2006 and in urban bodies in 2007. In 2016, under the Seven Resolves, 35 percent reservation was given to women in government jobs. A large number of Jeevika Didis have been formed, who are becoming self-reliant.
